Fast FTP Search

Sometimes you may need to find a file or folder in the FTP directory, but the bad thing is there are lot of files in the directory, maybe 200+ files or more! How could you get what you wanted in seconds? don't worry, FTPRush FTP client provides a easy and fast way to find files or folders in the remote FTP window and Local file window!

Call the Search Dialog

There are two methods to call the Search dialog to implements a fast searching:
1. Press CTRL +F when the remote FTP window or Local file window get focused.
2. Select "Search" from main menu.

How to Searching

Now the Search Dialog appears, Input the searching text at the combobox and click OK button, all folders and files match the searching text will stay at remote/local window. non-matching folders and files will be hidden. by check the "Regular expression" check box to using regular expression to doing a search.

Frequently asked question about the Fast FTP Searching

Question: After I searched something at remote window, to load the full directory list I need refresh(F5), it's a bit slow when the connection speed is slowly.
Answer: The fastest way is: if you want to reload the full directory list, please use CTRL+F to show the search dialog, then press ENTER key. FTPRush FTP client will reload directory from cache instead of a slowly list on FTP server.

Question: Do I need to use '*something*' to find what I needed in wildcard mode?
Answer: No, you do not need. only need to input "something"(without quote) then press ENTER key. that's the fastest way.

Question: I want to search the name of folders/files contain "a" and "b"
Answer: Input "a b"(without quote) then press ENTER key.

Question: I want to search the name of folders/files contain "a" and do not contain "b"
Answer: Input "a -b"(without quote) then press ENTER key.

Question: How can I search the name of folders/files contain "-b"?
Answer: Input "'-b'"(without quote) then press ENTER key.

Question: How can I search the name of folders/files do not contain "-b"?
Answer: Input "-b"(without quote) then press ENTER key.

Question: How can I load the last time searching string?
Answer: please use CTRL+F to show the search dialog, and press DOWN Arrow key, then press ENTER key.
